No, I didn't remove anything but Mega changed their URL's. I've now updated them, at least the direct Mega links in the 3rd post of the release thread. Anyway, it's better to just download the latest version as per the above link.

FYI in the Russian original only one term is used for both the unit and the hero class: "Снайпер".
To avoid any confusion I decided to use 2 separate terms in English, but as with the abilities and the source/target issue, automatic translation is not possible, which means that next time I translate and have to manually process the term I have already forgotten which term was used for which. The unit is called a "sniper" and the hero class a "sharpshooter". I may have mixed them up here and there.
I'll look into it for the next patch, but no high priority.

I thought 5 was the correct amount. But I guess you're right. If it's a bug in the original, that should be checked.

I've changed it for now, but it will not be implemented next time, because it's impossible to enter spaces at the start of a database entry, which are segmented by dots, colons and semicolons.

I haven't had the time for it, but I stumbled upon something interesting a while back, and it might rekindle some interest in the game. I guess many gamers are changing to mobile, so this might help.

I found a promising Android app called Exagear Strategies, with which one can play PC games on Android smartphones and tablets.
It's free to try for 3 days and then you'll have to buy the most suitable and properly working control interface to constinue playing, but that costs just a few £ or $. I think the one called Helium should work on Eador. This app was developed in Russia, so Jazz, you could probably find a Russian versoin somewhere. Anyone up for trying it out on their phone or tablet and seeing if it works as expected?

Patch 2.47 now released, implementing all latest fixes, except for the similar ratman hunger icons and the Alvari reward of 3 ritual scrolls, which are all game engine issues that most probably also exist in the Russian version.

Patch 2.46 now released, implementing all fixes reported since 2.45 with the exception of some issues that also exist in the Russian version.
The issue with the identical icons for the Ratman upgrade is also still outstanding.

Yes, I'll use that for now. It will do. I've been thinking of changing magician to warlock and call the upgraded shaman a magician, but I'll leave that for now. It's even more work.

Serious issue. That's a new unit. I had forgotten that a Sorcerer (Колдун) already exists. I'll have to think of a new name for Кудесник, the upgrade for the shaman. Magician (Маг) is already taken as a unit. Wizard is already used as a hero class. I'm running out of options. I guess magician would have fitted the best for a shaman. Thaumaturgist or Thaumaturge has no shamanic roots, but traditinal religious roots, so that one's out. I could use medicine man, but that's usually a peaceful role, and native American, rather than shamanic (image looks definitely Mongolian style). I'm a bit lost here. We could go for Shaman-Magician, but that seems a bit long and confusing.

I like it, but it occurs in various different files and I can't be bothered to change it now. It's quite a job and not really essential. I have changed it throughout the database however, so next time all occurences of it should be renamed to "Cloud of Restoration".

I've re-compiled Buttons.dat and done exactly as you describe above and my game doesn't crash so I'll implement it in a new patch, together with the other recent suggestions.

I'll look into the dat files today. There are 4 files that need to be changed. I use Grabber to import and export new jpg files. They are: Stuff, Anim, Interface and Buttons. If I see that there have been no changes in a certain file from say version 14.1228 to 15.0227 I just take my own old version, because then I don't have to do the whole import/export process. For the last run, I only had to do that for Buttons.dat, so there might be something happening during that import/export process, maybe the fact that I use jpg in stead of the original png files. The game seems to run fine most of the time, so I wonder what causes the crash. I'll look into it today. Thanks Boon, for all the work.

It should have read:
"Behead a similar looking bandit and slaughter a dozen lambs."
The sentence is obviously a bit too long, so I'll reduce it to:
"Kill a similar looking bandit and slaughter some lambs."
I think that should just about do it.

Yes, I had a whole list of occurrences of cutthroat, mercenary and the like, and unfortunately in the translation database I can't see in which file it occurs, so I must have been too eager.
I'll change it back soon. Thanks!
