You should really add a way for a user to feed his own vars to the table creator. I did use your table bringing items in check, and it was of great help. Unfortunately, their use was limited by the cumulative scale of changes I made. It's perfecrt for finding off values or mistakes, but should you intend to change, say, cost progression for 2h swords, table becomes progressively less accurate with each change, until the only use left is finding all the swords in question. Which is fine in and of itself, but kind of wastes the potential.
Hello Ket,
If users are allowed to edit the table, then the next two feature-requests will be
1) ability to save the changes to disk, and reload them later (possible with cookies)
2) ability to convert the table back to a var file
because I don't think users want to input the changes several times
I propose an alternative workflow:
- treat the table as read-only
- make changes directly to the var file
- run the conversion program on the updated var file to generate the updated table
I will make a Windows binary for all you Microsoft fans
Warning: it's a command-line tool, I'm just a Linux dev. Would that work for you?
Do you want other var files in table form?
Regards.
Microsoft
