New Features

- Ballance changes to hero skills
- Hero class changes


New Content (with some numbers, cause we all love 'em)

But that is not all, translated version of New Horizons is 13.0421, however if you'll like this mod and show it on this forum, we might translate the newest version 13.0827 which has a lot more improvements and exciting tactical possibilities.

Installation instruction.
1.Unzip the archive
2. Put the contens of the NH mod folder into your Eador:Genesis folder(where eador.exe is located)
3. Enjoy.



Known issues
Campaign CTD after victory bug.
It occures IN CAMPAIGN ONLY
There is a bug that crashes the game after you conquer a shard in campaign. It can occur on any shard and is considered game breaking, because it prevents from continuing the campaign.
This bug takes roots from the original Eador: Genesis, the origins of this bug are unknown, we are working on solving this bug.
Some people have this issues, a lot of others don't, so there is no guarantee that you'll have it and there is no guarantee that you won't have it.

This is a demonstration of all castle and monster unit promotions.

Explanation:

Promotions is the new system in the New Horizons mod. It gives certain units on certain levels a chance to have a specific upgrade that will change one unit into another - more powerful and with a different ability pool. All medals transfer from original unit to its upgraded version. Promotions can be only within the same tier. Very cool, Playing it right now. Pretty awesome so far. Thanks alot for translating it!

Love the new mercenary units, they are really useful now! Love the new pics for the events. Where do I get the spell scrolls from the library schools? Like "Sparks" for example. Edit: Oh they are in the store!


Bugs I found: Mummy name is still in russian. Its special skill # lists -1686964049 turns as duration in the description.

You are welcome. NH was so good that inspired me to start the translation, I also was very lucky to find imrahil66 and TehRic. Very Happy imrahil66 helped a great deal with numerous files and instances like 900+ different descriptions. TehRic is the one who translated events, encounters and unit descriptions with a high quality literaly English.

As for the paypal I'm thinking about it, because I have little time right now and we all have jobs, so it would've been a nice little help to all of us.

Btw I'm also a graphic guy I personally edited, to one extend or another over 150+ different sprites fo NH, huge thanks to all other guys who helped with sprites. You can check some of our work here. Sprite evolution. http://eador.com/B2/viewtopic.php?p=146162#146162

Also I have a question, since I'm a graphic guy I do tips like with unit promotions above, I wonder if any other tips needed for New Horizons?

Finally, we are slowly but steadily translating newest version of NH. There are A LOT of great features since Alexandr Bokulev(creator of Eador) made some enhancements to the game core.

1) Only castle units and neutral "mini" nations like undead, chaos, barbarians and nomads have promotions. Allied nations, the ones that you can have an alliance with, DO NOT have promotions at all. However alliance units usually are stronger than some castle ones.

2)Yes you can. You can even control dragons if you are lucky enough to find a dragon egg. There are only a few unobtainable bosses like Death Incarnate, Lich, Tarrasque(if you ever played DnD this is one is obviously unobtainable Smile)
3) This is Ironclad and Ironclad Captain. There is an event with them, wich can lead to a site been activated, where you can hire them. They are crazy strong units.

Btw if people are using this tips, I think I'll add names to all units.


There are very cool manuals for every race including small ones, too bad it requires a lot of translation.

Yeah, that was the main reason I started playing this mod. Smile
Btw I wonder if class changes explanation are needed, I mean like Druid(wand damage/range oriented hero) or Necromancer who is a commander right now.
