No, that's not the reason. I don't understand how it happened, but I do know at which stage. I wanted to save a lot of time by only putting the files that had changed through the translation process. I must have missed these three for some reason. Indeed an important issue, so thanks a lot for spotting that.

Not visible in game of course, but I value your error checking and if we can make that easier, why not do that? These were still some remnants from the initial translation attempts. I have removed all BOM's.

I will implement all of the changes made in patch 2.21, which I'll release today.

The problem lies in the fact that the translation software should be fed UTF-8 with BOM, which I'll then have to export as Windows 2251 again. I didn't know that in the beginning, so as a result there are obviously still some faulty terms stored in the database. I thought I had caught them all already, but I guess not. I'll correct that and implement the changes in the next patch.

AFAIU, BOM is for multi-byte encodings (UTF-16 and UTF-32). It serves no purpose for UTF-8, as there is no ambiguity (endianness) to resolve.

By the way, when you just update your message in the download thread, it doesn't update the posting dates. You should add a note that a new version is available (maybe after deleting the previous such note if you don't want to pollute the thread. Or I can do it for you if you'd like.)

To be honest, I don't know exactly how or why these question marks appear. I know it has something to do with the up- and down conversion to a different character encoding.

Again, I don't know exactly, but the translation software needs UTF-8 and with some files it only recognized it as such with a BOM present. This particular software is known for its occasional strange behaviour. Smile And I had thought about changing all « and » to ", but that's not just a matter of find and replace. I'll have to implement the changes throughout the database and that unfortunately requires a lot of manual work, and I didn't think it was worth it.

Yes, I always add a new post to the thread, which I then immediately delete, so subscribers should get a notification when there's a new patch.

The only way out is to end the program in Task Manager and then restart it. This does lead to the reversions counter increasing by one. I don't think this is a translation issue. Could someone look into this? Kettarienne, Boon?

Can you share the link for save-files? Probably, I'll see it on Russian version and check, will the bug stay in game. And, "switch ammo" should be work right. but of course this is not definitely truth.

I don't know this, but as I think it is because of exe file. Jazz says that it is because of not correct indexation in some happens.

Your translation probably right. I can't say it clearly because it's not easy to understand, is it from cattle or beef, or it is just a some joke's word.
But if translate by meaning, your translation is better.
Thank you for your job, it's very good, that we have so good tester from our foreigner friends!

I found a bug in one of the dialogs:

I forgot to make a screenshot of the initial screen, but I think it was about an adventurer killing a monster, which then leaves the spiders the monster preyed upon to spread. The answers (but not the text) on that initial screen are the same as on this screen:



Choosing to turn to a specialist leads to the second screen



and I didn't want to hire anyone and wanted to "let them deal with it themselves", but clicking the yellow option leads to



and clicking the yellow option again leads back to the previous screen.

The only way out is killing the deputee, but then it leads to



and the yellow option again leads to the other two screens, so it's a circular loop you can only get out of by executing the deputee and then saying you did everything you could. It is actually possible to kill the deputee several times like this. Smile

The "circle of deputy's killing" is old bug, but very fun. This is a way to decrease your province's corruption to zero. But, you will pay for this by very bad mood in province.
Also, calling as "carousel of deputy's" in meaning, that you can reroll the dialog for unstoppable killing.
And, as compilation of this words, I think it won't be fix, because it has it's price and it is very fun Smile

I've started a campaign. Some parts of the tutorial could be improved (grammar, mostly) but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

In the statistics screen, the count for "Into the Past" uses is translated "Reversions" (Russian: Возвраты в прошлое).

Long descriptions of skills level progression do not fit on a single line. (The cutoff seems to be ~45 characters.) Ideally, I'd expand the text box, but I think we need the source for that. Another option is to shorten the descriptions (yet another is to do nothing).
