Great idea! I never liked "demesne" either. I'll change it in the database and update it with a next patch.

Well, reversions is not wrong, but yes, I would also rather use in order of preference: rewinds, reloads, retries, reversions. Don't much like reboots or backward jumps.

Lvl 4: Initiative, Ranged Def & Defense +1

Thanks for all of the above, Boon. I'm glad you're polishing up Eador to a shine. I've been really enjoying the game these past weeks. Funny enough, I can't make myself start a custom shard to test all the available features. I'm still slowly progressing through the campaign, earning every little improvement the hard way. Smile

Still, I might give up at some point. I've only done 10 shards now, and I'm sure I've only reached 10 or 15% into the campaign, still only getting average sized shards and have only met Oinor and Beleth so far. Smile

Well, reversions is not wrong, but yes, I would also rather use in order of preference: rewinds, reloads, retries, reversions. Don't much like reboots or backward jumps.

I like "Rewinds" too. The problem with these translations is: how does someone new to the concept (of jumping back one turn "Into the Past") know that we are referring to that concept? (The game has no Reload mechanism, but this seems to be the closest fit...) Rewinds sounds nice and somewhat cryptic, Reloads is more mundane and somewhat more understandable. Let's go with Rewinds then? (Unless someone wants to suggest something else?)

I think this would have to be done for all skills for consistency?
I'll write a quick script to find all lines longer than 45 chars to see the impact of the line-wrapping.

The game uses fixed-size fonts, so what you see is what you get.

I discussed quest.var with Ket (quest #22 with the %s specifier in the Name) but he doesn't remember the details.
My guess is that this quest works for several different scrolls, and the %s is replaced by the actual scroll in question (chosen at random).
If I'm right, then omitting %s will not crash, but it will lose some information (the scroll name probably).
How about changing the quest Name to Scroll %s; like the Russian version?

The abbreviations look good, although I still don't much like Init, Explore and Recup. In the case of the latter, I think if you shrink Level to Lvl and if I counted correctly, Recuperation can stay as it is.
You could change "Allows to" into "Can". I think we can't avoid reducing Initiative and Resistance, but for the latter I'd then use Resist rather than Res, if that fits.

Jazz will soon release official fix 1 for 14.1228, so besides translating those changes, I have also fixed most of the issues reported in this thread so far, including the skill progressions.
I have adopted most of your suggestions, but have taken the liberty of making some changes I feel are for the better as well, for instance:

I think this is fine, because there's a more detailed description of the skills above the list anyway.

I had already significantly shortened /21 Necromancy while working on 14.0920, and I also can't think of anything to make this shorter without losing crucial information.

Another thing: I have decided to stick with Reversions for now, the reason being that this term has been used since the very beginning, and if you Google "Eador reversions" you get a lot of information about the let's say somewhat unusual and irritating save game system and how it works. If we would now suddenly change the term, that would create even more confusion. It's not a big deal IMHO. The term is a bit unusual but not incorrect.

I will release patch 2.3 as soon as the Russian version has been released.
