I think this is fine, because there's a more detailed description of the skills above the list anyway.

I had already significantly shortened /21 Necromancy while working on 14.0920, and I also can't think of anything to make this shorter without losing crucial information.

Another thing: I have decided to stick with Reversions for now, the reason being that this term has been used since the very beginning, and if you Google "Eador reversions" you get a lot of information about the let's say somewhat unusual and irritating save game system and how it works. If we would now suddenly change the term, that would create even more confusion. It's not a big deal IMHO. The term is a bit unusual but not incorrect.

I will release patch 2.3 as soon as the Russian version has been released.

I like your changes, I'll start playing "for real" on 2.3

One more suggestion (deleting two 'the')
#Scouting increases the speed of the province exploration, and allows the hero to spy on the enemy's forces and perform the acts of sabotage before attacking.

On an unrelated matter, after fix 1 the tool for manually controlling my province guards no longer works https://www.dropbox.com/s/900w2fax3ej2nq2/Eador%20Genesis%201.05.2%20v4.CT?dl=0 (cheat engine).

Setting a check in "Control Guards in Combat" is no longer possible.



Any help with that second issue would be greatly appreciated Wink.

Yes, I know. Thanks, Jazz. I'm on top of it. This is a relatively serious bug. There was an extra # under /325, which I have removed. I'm also busy fixing the other minor bugs. I'll release patch 2.31 this afternoon.

As Sat said, that's weird.

prefix.var #38 is Гор
Suffix.var #17 is ир
which would make Горир (Russophones, is that indeed what kid showed?)
-> Phonetic translation Gorir, according to Google.

Does it print Russian names for shards even if you start a new campaign?
(It works for me on the first shard selection.)

Can you check your prefix.var and Suffix.var? Do you have Russian letters in there?

Or maybe it is hard-coded in the binary? (I don't see it though.)
Russophones, do you confirm that the CP1251 encoding for Гор is c3 ee f0 ??

Shard names in a new campaign are in English. I guess game only uses prefix.var and suffix.var once during shard generation. As a consequence, I suspect that shard names of an old campaign got "carried over" to the English version.

That's funny! I had changed demesne into capital also in these three files, but for some strange reason I didn't include them in the last patch.

I have now also aligned the pathfinding level ups.

I don't think it's worth uploading a brand-new patch for though, as it would mean a 20 MB upload. These things will have to wait until another serious bug is discovered, Jazz releases a new official fix or until the release of a new version in March / April.

Original Russian term is Изучение.
It means STUDY; LEARNING; RESEARCH; SCRUTINY; INDUSTRY; CONTEMPLATION

Depending on the subject of the sentence, I suggest

or [the heroes may] "Study/Learn spells of the N-th circle

Greetings! I am a long time player of Eador: Genesis, but have only just discovered the 'New Horizons' mod. I'm still getting to grips with the new balance of the game, which is difficult because I spent so long playing the original version. Is there a comprehensive list somewhere that has all of the changes? I was disappointed to take my Warrior all the way to Berserker, only to find that the sweet sweet 'Round Attack' at the end of a level 5 talent has been removed!

Just a few translation errors/balance issues that I noticed.

1) After you have conquered a shard, on the results screen, your title looks something like this "Overlord (your name) Honest" or "Astral Master (your name) Good" (I guess there are different titles for people who go evil). It's only a small point, but in English grammar it should read "Overlord (your name) the Honest" or "Astral Master (your name) the Good".

2) I see that some of the Hero abilities/talents have been changed (for flavour or balance, I'm not sure which) but the original description still remains the same. As an example off the top of my head, when a Commander becomes a Tactician I noticed that he no longer gets an Initiative bonus, but the description of Tactician still says that he does. I'm not sure whether the text is the error or the nerf was accidental, but it remains.

3) Quests are now much much harder to complete. I love all the work that went into creating new enemies and neutral armies (even though I'm now having to learn what I can beat and what I can't all over again!), but it means that certain enemies pop up less frequently than before. For example, a low level quest to kill 10 skeletons was quite simple before because there were many random dungeons that contained "Undead" as guards. Now with all the new neutral enemies added to the random generation, "Undead" appear less than half as much. I tried the quest for Centaur allies (kill 5 ogres) but couldn't find enough in a whole average sized map! There was only 1 location with "Giants", and "Orcs" (which used to have ogres fighting with them) now only have the new Orc units in their armies. I would recommend either reducing the number of enemies needed to be killed in quests, or expanding the scope of what can be killed (allowing you to kill Ogres and Trolls, for example).

Keep up the good work guys! Especially loving the new unit promotions, it finally makes keeping your tier 1 guys alive worthwhile.

In Russian the bonus seems to match the description, no ini at 10, +1 at 20... I guess it's either a translation error, or you accidentally used an older version of the file for translation, Satshanti. Or I am missing something, but either way it is worth looking into.

Some of those hunted units were adressed with quest number changes, and some became more wide-, if thinly spread. Those ogres are now found in the Giants, the Ogres and The Great Ciclops guards, as you would've find out soon(-ish). But, I guess, the issue can take another look or two. Centaurs as a whole are becoming looked at at the moment. Gazed at. Stared. Though it can be a long stare.
